Malaysia Manufacturing PMI Slumps In November - S&P Global

(fxcue news) - The manufacturing sector in Malaysia continued to contract in November, and at a faster pace, the latest survey from S&P Global revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 49.2. That's down from 49.5 in October, and it moves further beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction. New orders eased for the fourth time in five months amid subdued demand. The reduction was modest, but the most marked since April. On the other hand, international markets saw growth of new orders for the eighth consecutive month in November, which firms often attributed to demand across the Asia-Pacific region. In line with the picture for total new orders, production softened at a modest pace, though the rate of reduction eased fractionally from the previous survey month.
