On Wednesday (January 1st) local time, an electric vehicle explosion occurred in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, resulting in one death and seven injuries.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that they are investigating the explosion that occurred in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas and have preliminarily classified it as a potential criminal case or terrorist attack.

The Associated Press reported that authorities stated that on Wednesday, a Tesla cyber truck that appeared to be carrying fireworks caught fire and exploded outside President elect Donald Trump's Las Vegas hotel, resulting in one death and seven injuries. According to a law enforcement official, the truck was rented through the Turo app and appears to have been loaded with fireworks. The official requested anonymity as they were not authorized to speak publicly.

The local police said at a press conference that the incident occurred at 8:40 am local time on January 1st, when a Tesla electric truck exploded in front of the Trump Hotel, causing one death in the car and seven minor injuries near the vehicle. The police are conducting further investigations to confirm the nature of the incident and the information of the deceased.

The cause of the explosion has not been determined yet, and the investigation focuses on whether it was caused by a vehicle malfunction or whether there was a human motive.

According to ABC, authorities are investigating the Tesla Cyber Pickup explosion that occurred outside the Trump Las Vegas hotel in Nevada on Wednesday, which may have been a terrorist act. An official told ABC that the Cyber Pickup is equipped with fireworks mortar.

At the time of this incident, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and police were investigating the attack that occurred in New Orleans on Wednesday morning, which resulted in 10 deaths and over 30 injuries. The bureau stated that authorities have discovered an ISIS flag and officials are working to determine whether the suspect Shamsud Din Jabbar may have any potential connections or affiliations with terrorist organizations. According to an anonymous law enforcement official who is aware of the situation, an improvised explosive device has been discovered.

The area around the Trump Hotel has been sealed off, and there are a large number of law enforcement personnel, firefighters, and medical staff on site. Some hotel guests have been transferred to other hotels.

Due to its association with US President elect Trump, hotels have long been a key area of security threats.

Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill told reporters that the electric vehicle was parked at the glass entrance of the Trump International Hotel before the "Big Bang" occurred.

According to Agence France Presse, video footage shows that the stainless steel truck caught fire after stopping at the hotel entrance, followed by a smaller explosion similar to fireworks.

McMahill said, 'One person died inside the electric truck' and seven people were 'lightly injured'.

A witness told a local television station that he initially heard an explosion and thought someone was setting off fireworks, but later saw a Tesla electric truck parked in front of the hotel exploding and catching fire.

Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, responded to this matter, emphasizing that the hotel will do its utmost to ensure the safety of guests and employees, and thanking local law enforcement and fire departments for their prompt response.

Musk subsequently stated that the cyber pickup truck explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas may have been a terrorist act and hinted that it may be related to the truck collision in New Orleans that resulted in at least 15 deaths.

In a series of posts on X, Musk stated that a team from Tesla has confirmed that the explosion was caused by "very large fireworks and/or carried bombs" on a rented cyber truck. Musk said that both the Cyber Pickup and the pickup trucks used in New Orleans are rented from Turo, and added, "Perhaps they are connected to some extent
