12/27 Gold Crude Oil Trading Strategy
In terms of gold, the global market gradually returned from Christmas overnight, and the US initial jobless claims data performed well, strengthening the expectation of the Federal Reserve maintaining high interest rates to curb inflation next year. The US dollar index continued to strengthen, but Israel once again opened fire on the Houthis, and the market's risk aversion sentiment also rebounded. The gold trend fluctuated and rose all the way after hitting around 2616 at the opening, hitting a low of 2623 near 2630 in the white market, stabilizing and rising again near 2621 in the US market, and hitting a high of 2638 near 2621 in the evening. Although it broke through the expected level, the strength is limited at present. After all, the Federal Reserve's tightening is a long-term pressure, and short-term operations can continue to buy more on the last step, but the strength and space may be limited. So it's not too blind.
In terms of crude oil, on the one hand, the expiration of the Russia Ukraine natural gas contract has raised concerns in the market about future European natural gas supply, coupled with Israel's renewed fire, the overall market's worries have heated up, stimulating an effective rebound in crude oil. However, the improvement on the demand side is limited, and the strengthening of the US dollar has put significant pressure on crude oil. Technically, the rebound to the pressure level has also fallen back as scheduled, with overnight crude oil rebounding up to around 70.7 and falling back to around 69.3 as scheduled. The short position near 70.5 that we shared with you also realized a space of about $12 as scheduled. In terms of operation, we can maintain the strategy of rebounding and short selling.
